Here are my top picks for what’s happening across Herts, Beds, Bucks and Oxon this Easter holidays. ENJOY!

BUCKINGHAMSHIRE

Peterley Manor Farm Easter Egg Hunt

Prestwood, 4th –6th April 

This is a super Easter egg trail around the Barn Kitchen gardens. We did it last year and loved it. 

Children will be issued with a trail map and pencil and will search for wooden eggs on our farm-themed hunt. These will be exchanged for a chocolate egg at the end (dairy-free available). There will also be an Easter gardening activity along the way which includes a wildflower pot to take home. 

Rumsey’s Make Your Own Easter Egg Course

Wendover, Bucks (plus Thame) – various dates

Each participant will be given their very own Easter Egg mould and with the guidance of our wonderful chocolate chefs they will pipe chocolate and decorate both sides of their own Easter Egg. The chocolate course lasts approximately 30 minutes.

The Easter Eggs will then need to set for another half an hour before you can take them home. Whilst they are setting you are welcome to stay on for a drink or treat, or feel free to pop back into us later on. We’ll wrap your eggs beautifully for you to take home.

Chiltern Open Air Museum

nr. Chalfont St Giles. 7th -10th April.

Explore the wonderful historic buildings and learn about some Easter traditions, take part in the Easter trail and have a go at some family crafts and see the baby lambs.

There are 45 acres for you to explore including woodland and new adventure playground.

Woodoaks Farm Family Bat Walk

Nr. Maple Cross, 14th April 7.30-8.30pm 

Family Bat walk – learn how to use a bat detector to scan the skies and identify the bat species you are able to listen to.

Discover Bucks Museum

Aylesbury. Various dates. 

Lots of Easter craft activities in the first week of the holidays and Your Amazing Brain themed crafts and activities in the second week. Prices and activities vary. 

OXFORDSHIRE

Sandy Lane Farm Open Day

Tiddington, nr. Thame. Saturday 8th April 10am-3pm

Come and explore the market garden and the polytunnels, enjoy a delicious cake and coffee in the farmyard and entertain the little ones with a simple Easter egg hunt around the farm! 

Nettlebed Creamery

Nr.Henley. Various dates.

So many lovely sessions running here – from Easter bonnet making to an Alphabet Amble plus a navigation course for kids. Click the link above for all the details. 

Amersham Museum

5th – 16th April 12noon -4.30pm 

Find the Easter eggs around the museum to spell out a special message and win a chocolate prize.

Waterperry Gardens

1st– 16th April 10am-5.30pm

Hunt for giant bunnies around these beautiful gardens and don’t forget to pop to the neighbouring farm shop to take a peek at their lambs.

Oxford Natural History Museum

1-16th April 10am-5pm 

There’s a free Eggstraordinary Easter Family Trail along with all the other amazing artefacts from dinosaurs and fossils to gem stones and meterorites. 

The Earth Trust Lambing Day

1st – 2nd April 2023 Morning and afternoon slots available. 

Explore the farmyard and visit expectant ewes and newborn lambs keeping cosy in the lambing shed. Enjoy a tractor trailer ride, games, stalls and more.

Rectory Farm

Stanton St John, various dates.

Paper craft activities for little ones and Easter afternoon teas available. Dates and prices vary.

Tumblestone Hollow Easter Trail

Nr. Henley. 1st-16th April.

Explore the trail around the magical adventure playground of Tumblestone Hollow and the gardens of beautiful Stonor Park. There are fairy stories to enjoy as well as fantastic play areas. 

Thame County Fayre

9th and 10th April 

Watch the Falconry, Gundogs, Horse Boarding, Scurry Driving and Stunt Display Team in the arena shows and enjoy the demonstrations and Have a Go events including Fishing, Airguns and Archery. 

There’s a World of Dogs section with a chance for your pet to participate with Lurcher Racing, Gun Dog Multi-scurry and the Fun Dog show.

Enjoy the Food Glorious Food Section with a variety of street foods and drink vendors, chef demonstrations and music marquee.

HERTFORDSHIRE

Tring Museum

Various dates. 

Search the museum for eggs or enjoy their Cracking Cassowaries session where you get to take home your own cassowary egg.

Ashridge House Vintage Fair

1st-10th April 

Traditional rides including Helter Skelter, Dodgems, the Big Wheel and more all set the backdrop of the beautiful grounds.There’s a bunny trail around the landscaped gardens and garden games. 

BEDFORDSHIRE

Buzzrail Easter Egg Hunt

Sunday 8th, Monday 9th and Tuesday 10th April 

Hop on board the Easter express. There’s an Easter treasure hunt, golden tickets for every child and an Easter bonnet competition plus a choice of five trains to ride each day behind one of our historic steam locomotives.

When you arrive at Pages Park you will be greeted by the Easter Bunny and their friends, you can then enjoy our 65-minute steam train ride along an exciting, three-mile route built over 100 years ago.

Stockwood Discovery Centre

Nr. Luton, 5th -16th April

Make your very own boater hat in this fun-filled crafting session. Purchase your Hat kit online, pick it up from reception on the day of your chosen session & then get stuck in! After you construct your hat, you’ll be able to decorate your boater hat with a variety of materials.

There will also be a FREE first come first served collaging activity available on each session. 

Dunstable Downs Easter Orange Bowling

3-10 April, 10am-4pm 

This fun family trail celebrates the 200 year old local tradition of Orange Rolling on Dunstable Downs. See if you can roll the orange bowling balls through the holes of colourful Easter stations.
