The musical trail at The Grove Hotel is a great FREE place to take little ones for a run round.
The one-mile-long track has 7 different musical stations, enormous metal xylophones, pan pipes and drums. Some of the instruments that were broken when we visited last summer have been replaced.
This is beautiful place to visit in bluebell season or in the summer when the wildflowers are blooming.
GOOD TO KNOW
Where to eat: If you want to splash out, treat yourself to a meal or afternoon tea at The Grove. There are plenty of benches, tables and seats to enjoy a picnic.
Toilets: None.
Accessibility: Buggy/wheelchair friendly for cross country models. Not suitable for scooters.
Dog Friendly: Yes.
Nearby: Leavesden Country Park – one of my favourite places to visit with kids and a great café onsite. Make a day of it by walking the interactive heritage trail and two playgrounds.
Parking: It’s free to park.
Directions: Please be sure to use postcode WD17 3NL. Don’t use the hotel postcode as you’ll get lost!
Enter The Grove Hotel via its long winding driveway (off Hempstead Road, A411). Go over a bridge and head up the hill towards to the hotel.
Once you get to the hotel, follow signs for Anouska’s Children’s Nursery to the right.
Park at the far end of the car park as close to the nursery as you can. Take the path past the nursery and nursery playground (not open to the public) on your left. You’ll enter the woods past piles of logs. Follow signs for the musical trail.
