You don’t need to go to Chelsea to see the best gardens. We’ve got some great ones in Herts, Beds, Bucks & Oxfordshire. Below is a list of my favourites…
🌺 Waterperry Gardens Oxfordshire – these beautifully landscaped gardens created by pioneering female horticulturalist Beatrix Havergal include a riverside walk, borders popping with colour and a silent space for quiet reflection. It’s a great place to visit with kids as there’s plenty of space to explore plus a playground. Make a day of it with a visit to their fab café and the neighbouring Waterperry Farm Shop.
🌺FREE – Lyde Gardens, nr. Princes Risborough. These small, unusual aquatic gardens are fun for little ones with bridges and boardwalks to run over.
🌺 Ashridge House Gardens nr. Berkhamsted. The former pad of Henry VIII and Elizabeth I, there’s 190 acres to discover plus lots of special events.
🌺 Chenies Manor nr. Rickmansworth is always a treat to visit with a maze plus deep well along with beautifully tending grounds. Their dahlia festival later in the summer is a lovely day out.
ENJOY!
